AWARDS & COMMUNITY
In its seventeen years of operation, Studio 51 has received numerous awards and an abundance of community recognition for the performance and stage work done by its students. Studio 51 is extremely proud of the success that its students have achieved through the Peel Music Festival, OMFA provincial acting competition and the esteemed Trinity College of London Exams.
Not only have the students of Studio 51 done great work on stage, they have also done great work for the community. Every year, Studio 51 hosts a performance event in support of a charity, chosen by the students. In the past Studio 51 has been honoured to use their performance skills to raise funds for Red Cross in their relief fund for Haiti, North York General Hospital’s Child and Teen program, North York General Hospital’s Human Race Celebrity Event, The Stephen Lewis Foundation, Kids for Cotlands and Museum Research and Preservation with the Bata Shoe Museum.

Studio 51 has also teamed up Rainbow Cinemas, to raise funds and awareness for the World Wildlife Foundation, Free the Children and Make a Wish.

These performance showcases are intended to provide our students with a wonderful opportunity to perform in front of a large, live and public audience. In addition, this performance experience also educates our students about important social issues and the value of giving back to the community by using public speaking to advocate for important matters.
